If you are like me, you sometimes forget this about your self and others. When you are lamenting and moaning about the things that you are not good at, the things you wish you were better at, do you remember that you were marvellously made by your creator? When we criticise others for the things they may do differently or not as well as we do, do we remember that they too were marvellously made by their creator and in fact the same creator who created us.
Psalm 139:13-16 (http://www.biblegateway.com)
The Message (MSG)
13-16 Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvellously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvellously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
We are all different and uniquely made for a specific purpose. Have you found yours, that purpose where you can use your unique gifts, your marvellously made self to serve your creator?
