Anxiety and depression......

Anxiety definition
-          A painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind usually over an impending or anticipated illness

Depression definition
-          psychoneurotic or psychotic disorder marked especially by sadness, inactivity, difficulty in thinking and concentration, a significant increase or decrease in appetite and time spent sleeping, feelings of dejection and hopelessness, and sometimes suicidal tendencies
As I blog I realize that anxiety has bound us at times with it`s ugly grip. It has us in fear of what could happen next to us. It`s very ugly cousin depression wants us to be gloomy about our current situation and our future. Satan has used these among other things to torment our home in hopes of rendering us less useful for God`s honour and glory. Like an aging boxer we stand feeling like we are taking blow after blow and when fighting on our own we are easily knocked down. When allowing God to coach us we are able to withstand the blows.
We remind ourselves then that we teach our kids to trust in God;
Ephesians 6:16 (NIV)
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Still though we are week and are attacked by Satan as Jesus was;
Mathew 4:8-10 (NIV)
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’

We are assured that God is our strength though;
Psalm 9:9 (NIV)
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,  a stronghold in times of trouble.
